From Wayne Foley: Many of you already know about Tamela’s breast cancer diagnosis just last month, December 10th 2021. She has already completed TWO hurdles in this race against the disease. On January 7th 2022, she had her lumpectomy surgery and just this past Wednesday completed the intense brachytherapy which is the targeted radiation treatments.
NOW, because of the aggressiveness of the breast cancer that Tamela has, she will start preparing for chemotherapy treatments. 12 weeks of intense treatment followed by an additional 9 MONTHS of herceptin which is an anti-cancer drug .
In hopes of adding support for her, I have created this website and blog for her to share with us all. Share what? Whatever it is that she decides to share. I’m praying that during this journey, she is able to share not only the successes but also the rough times.
I want this to be a SAFE place for her and I pray that the comments made here in response to her posts are kind and supportive. I want this to be a place that she can call her own and it’s separate from the often cruel world of FB and other social media outlets.
I’ve set this up without her knowledge and I plan to hopefully surprise her with it today. Maybe she will even find time to post something.
Tamela has been the most AMAZING wife to me during the past 30 years. If you know her well, you know that she is the cream of the crop and the crème de la crème. You couldn’t ask for a better friend and I hope you are able to help support her during the next year. I’m so lucky that I can call her my best friend and wife for so many years. God was truly watching out for me because she was no doubt, created in HIS image.
I know that some of you have lived through this monster called cancer and I know some of you have seen the devastation that it causes, including death. I pray that you are able to share from your perspective and are able to empathize with what she’s going through in a supportive way.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
In HIS grips,
Wayne

I left a comment below your first blog. I am thankful it was detected early, and that you have a good chance of defeating this cancer. We will support you how we can.
Prayers and thoughts are with you Tamela as you go thru this season of life. I have been thru something similar as this and when I had good days, that’s just what they were, good days. The more difficult days, whatever it was, I kept telling myself it was only temporary, it would pass and I could do it! Was it hard at times, yes, but it was temporary! Even if temporary was 10 min or 10 days or 10 weeks. And guess what?? I did make it. You will too Tamela. You’ve got God on your side, a great husband and family, friends to help you thru. On your list of things to do, you’ve already marked off two things on that list. We are here for you Tamela, may God continue to bless you!
Nancy, thank you so much. I’m so thankful for your support. Love ya’ll.
